Deeds Roadmap to Change
Right now, Texas suffers at the hands of radical, out-of-touch politicians who would rather divide us than put forward equitable policies that allow all Texans to thrive. They use fearmongering, attacks on basic human rights, and challenges to our freedoms – all to benefit their donors and corrupt billionaires instead of prioritizing the needs of young Texans. Years of underinvestment in the power of youth communities to impact change have left little organizing and advocacy infrastructure to fight back against oppressive policies or build political power for the future.
We believe that investing in the civic leadership and political power of young Texans has the potential to create a fairer, just, and free Texas where politicians bring everyday people together to make life better for all Texans.
Addressing the many challenges Texas currency faces will require a new generation of leaders equipped with the resources to move the policy needle on our core issues and the issues impacting youth communities across the state. To achieve this, we must:
Train the next generation of changemakers on the tools necessary to make an impact on our shared values, creating a new bench of progressive talent to organize, advocate, and run for office to shift the center of power in Texas towards young workers.
Mobilize young people across Texas to tell their stories and make their voices heard on campus and in the halls of power about the issues impacting their lives and show the collective power young people wield.
Unleash the power of art and creative activism in our politics by empowering Texans to envision the more just future we are advocating for by giving young creatives the resources and training necessary to make an impact and mobilize youth communities to action.
We believe we can build a state where elected leaders are responsive to the issues impacting young Texans, particularly young Texans of color, and ensure the next generation of progressive leaders has the skills and training necessary to claim their rightful seat at the tables of power.
