Deeds Action Fund

Deeds Action Fund is a 501(c)4 organization that builds youth power in Texas through strategic organizing and leadership development. Rooted in empowering young organizers to advocate and mobilize while fostering bold conversations about the issues that young people care most about. 

At Deeds Action Fund, we are at the forefront of advocating for a Texas where freedom isn't just a word, but a lived reality—one where every young person is empowered to choose, act, dream, and shape a prosperous future.

Elizabeth Doyel

she/her/hers

Elizabeth is the Managing Director and Principal at Superior Blue Strategies, where she develops award-winning direct mail and provides strategic advising for progressive candidates, labor unions, and organizations nationwide. She previously led political strategy and fundraising at NU Strategies, the Texas League of Conservation Voters, and Annie’s List. Elizabeth holds a degree in Speech Communication and Rhetoric from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She serves on the National Board of Emerge and as Board Secretary of Deeds Not Words, and is passionate about electing women and building progressive power in the South.

Billy Koontz

he/him/his

Billy is the Founder and Principal Consultant at Koontz Consulting, where he works with youth-led and grassroots organizations to scale their organizations by building sustainable financial systems that efficiently navigate increasingly complex programs, entities, and funding streams. He previously oversaw all financial matters, provided critical capacity-building support to local affiliates, and helped build the largest progressive youth funding intermediary in the country as the Chief Financial Officer at the Alliance for Youth Action/Organizing. He holds an M.B.A. from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. Originally from Wichita Falls, Texas, Billy cares deeply about rural youth organizing, is an avid disc golfer, and currently lives in Santa Fe with his partner, Lacy, and their dog, Bo.

Raven Douglas

she/her/hers

Raven Douglas is a civic engagement leader and strategist with a track record of building and scaling high impact voter engagement programs across Texas and nationally. She currently serves as Head of Civic Engagement Programs at States Win, where she leads multi state initiatives, oversees program strategy and performance, and supports a national network of partners and elected leaders across 28 states. Throughout her career, Raven has coordinated more than $20 million in aligned funding strategies and developed cross sector partnerships with organizations, funders, and community leaders to strengthen civic participation and long term power building. A Houston native, she holds a BA in Political Science from The University of Texas at San Antonio and is an avid pickleballer.
